I think Irene's concern -- one foreign to most of you young whelps -- is parental; while one might not disapprove of Peaches antics, in the abstract, when it's your 14 year old child, you might think -- correctly, in my opinion -- that the child is not yet developmentally ready to deconstruct her message. Peaches plays with issues of gender and sexuality, in way that is conceptually subtle, but very direct and graphic in presentation. I think that the subtleties are lost on someone who is 14, for whom sexuality is relatively new, intense, and scary subject. Kids don't get to stay kids long enough any more.
